At House of Science, we are looking to the future and thinking about how we can ensure that our mahi can continue in the years ahead.
We are delighted to announce that we’ve teamed up with the Acorn Foundation, the Western Bay of Plenty’s regional Community Foundation, and have set up a perpetual endowment fund for House of Science NZ.
This fund is a fantastic opportunity for us. Our fund will be pooled with other Acorn funds and invested, so that it earns maximum interest – with the goal of growing the fund. Once the fund reaches $50,000, a portion of the interest earned each year will be paid out to us, generating a
sustainable annual income – forever.
Some charities who have set up funds with Acorn in the past several years are already receiving thousands of dollars in annual income from their fund. We hope to get to that stage too, but first we need to grow our fund.
How you can help
There are several ways you can help. The first is to consider making a one-off or regular
donation to our Acorn fund. You can do this here: https://www.acornfoundation.org.nz/about-us/our-recipient-charities/house-science-tauranga-charitable-trust-1
Another option is to consider leaving a gift to us in your will (a bequest). Every day, thousands of lives are changed thanks to gifts in wills. Even a small gift in a will could really help us to grow our fund. There are many ways to leave a gift in a will – please contact us if you would like to
