Our Purpose
Empowering Teachers
We develop relevant, comprehensive resource kits with all the materials needed to carry out engaging science lessons. The bilingual kits are delivered to schools using a subscription based library system.

Our Vision
Raising Scientific Literacy
We aim to see every child in New Zealand become scientifically literate. This means they have a clear understanding of science concepts and processes encountered in their daily lives. Improving scientific literacy will have a huge economic and social benefit to New Zealand.
Critical Thinking Skills
Science teaches us how to gather and interpret information, and to make informed decisions. A key skill in light of the prolific ‘fake news’ on all media platforms.
Economic Prosperity
Our future economy depends on advancements in clean technology, automation and digital innovation. A scientifically literate workforce will have the skills to embrace this future of work.
Health & Wellbeing
Science enables us as individuals to make informed decisions about diet, exercise and medical treatments. These choices directly impact our personal health and wellbeing and that of our families.
Our Values
Fostering Curiosity

Making It Count
We are here to make a positive difference in the lives of our children by helping teachers deliver great science lessons.
Empowering People
We create an environment where people can think big, have fun and contribute in a safe and inclusive way.
Being Curious
We ask questions and challenge the status quo in order to create a better tomorrow.

Whether the activities are hard or easy our tamariki can access them at the level they are learning at and get interest and enjoyment from them. They always help us ask and answer questions and expand our thinking and they are hands-on and well-organised and appealing.

I love them, they are providing enough resources for all kids to use. The equipment is often well beyond our budget can afford and the students are engaged while working on an activity. There are some activities that our babies can do and then some which challenge the minds off ur bigger students. Thank you House of Science for providing the opportunities for our students to learn about science and for ensuring all resources are available to us as well. NGA MIHI NUI

This is the great thing about this resource is that teachers are free to adapt everything to their own class. Collaborative Learning of the measuring tools. The concepts in the box on the whole was too hard. My kids don’t even know what a stop watch, timer tape measure is let alone the harder concept tools. I pushed the desks to the side got the kits out took the tools out of the boxes and let the kids explore.

They are fabulous. Having all of the resources at hand is so helpful. I can usually adapt the activities to suit the year 1’s. I really appreciate the Science Capabilities as the key focus so that even if a concept is too complex at certain levels for the year 1’s we still know that the capabilities are being well consolidated.

This is one of the best science kits enjoyed by myself and the students, especially my year 7/8. The experiments expressed the wow! factor, they also showed high interest in the nano chem relationship to their environment. Their minds were challenged to comprehend the concept of nano technology. The akonga were highly motivated and looked forward to each lesson. I used the kit every day for the two weeks. I especially enjoyed Te Reo kupu, these kupu were instilled in the akonga learning. Looking forward to the next kit. Physics is a must for akonga in this area.
