House of Science Tauranga Robotics Club
The House of Science Tauranga Robotics has been established to cater for students that do not have the opportunity to participate in VEX at their school but have an interest in competitive robotics. The team has been extremely successful at regional, national and even world championship events.
Members can be fully financial (year 6-13, attend building sessions, local competitions and contribute to fund-raising efforts) or affiliate (any age, attend competitions and help out as and when able)
Costs for 2018:
$50 - $300 p/a, depending on parent/caregiver availability to volunteer, plus one off joining fee of $50 which includes a team shirt. Each robot is worth several thousand dollars and competitions are costly. Hence there are significant expectations around fundraising.
